Circuit training uses a number of ‘stations’ each with a different exercise to work an area of the body. The circuit is completed when each exercise has been completed. There are usually only short gaps between each station and circuit and it is a high intensity cardio and strength workout.
Denbighshire Leisure run a range of circuits sessions including Abs Circuit, Underground Circuit and Outdoor Circuits.
This class will help to improve strength, balance, flexibility and movement quality as well as raising your cardiovascular performance. Consisting of simple aerobic training i.e. running, skipping, jumping and muscle endurance stations with options to suit all fitness levels. Some studies have found that Circuit training is the most effective way to lose weight and improve fitness.
Circuit training is a high impact, high intensity aerobic and strength training exercise. It is suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness as the trainer will adjust the equipment or exercise to your fitness level and ability. However, if you have an ongoing medical condition or injury you should consult your GP or medical professional before undertaking a new exercise.
Comfortable, flexible clothing that lets you move freely. You should wear trainers that give you adequate support and stability.
You don’t need to bring any equipment – just a water bottle to stay hydrated.
