DLL announces support for 73 organisations via the DLL Community Grant
DLL has recently issued £430,000 to 73 local clubs and organisations in support of sports, arts, cultural and creative activities in Denbighshire.
The company ( DLL) had been awarded the money by Denbighshire County Council, via the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund, to administer the scheme on behalf of Denbighshire.
The grant has given smaller organisations and clubs in Denbighshire the opportunity to receive capital and revenue funding to support activities such as music and theatre performances, funding for local exhibitions, sports equipment and kit, and funding to renovate or maintain existing facilities. Ysgol Cefn Meiriadog received funding to install a trim trail on the school field to increase the amount of physical activity the children can do whilst further developing their gross motor skills. The Denbigh Workshop received funding towards their annual Bilingual Creative Arts Summer School for disadvantaged young people. The summer school offers a creative outlet to boost well-being and bring young people together.
Jamie Groves, Managing Director of DLL said: “We have been delighted to be able to support so many clubs and organisations over two rounds of funding received from Denbighshire County Council. Our Community is one of the three pillars of our company, and helping maintain community participation and club infrastructure remains a priority for DLL. With funding from the UK Government and the continued support and commitment of Denbighshire County Council to its communities, the grant has enabled us to help sustain and support important third sector groups, sports and cultural organisations. Many clubs and organisations are run by volunteers for the benefit of the local community, and provide opportunities for people to come together, which we know has a positive impact on people’s mental health and wellbeing.”
Further information on some of the projects will be shared on our website and Facebook page over the coming months.
DLL was also successful in receiving funding through the Shared Prosperity Fund to deliver a Creative Arts programme. The Creative Arts Programme will work with key third sector partners and community and health partners to deliver an arts in health and wellbeing participatory programme in community, social care and health settings. The total funding received by DLL for both projects was £584,000.
