Denbighshire Leisure supports Breast Cancer Awareness by lighting up in pink
Denbighshire Leisure will be lighting up buildings this October in support of Breast Cancer Now’s Wear it Pink Day.
Ruthin Craft Centre, Rhyl Sky Tower, Rhyl Pavilion Theatre, 1891 Restaurant and Bar and the Events Arena waterfall will all be illuminated in pink on October 21st to support this annual event.
Wear It Pink day has been taking place for over 20 years and has raised over £37 million pounds for life saving research into breast cancer. Every year around 2,600 people, including men and women, are diagnosed with breast cancer in Wales – which is approximately 7 people every day.
Every pound raised by Breast Cancer Now goes towards vital research which can help to prevent breast cancer, help to detect it earlier or help to ensure it is treated effectively at each stage.
Managing Director of Denbighshire Leisure Ltd, Jamie Groves said “Wear It Pink Day is one of the biggest annual fundraising events in the UK, and as a result Breast Cancer Now are able to continue working towards not only providing potentially life-saving research, but also making improvements to support and care, and access to information for those diagnosed with breast cancer, and their families. Many of us have had our lives touched by this disease, and Denbighshire Leisure are proud to light up buildings in pink to help raise awareness of breast cancer.”
