DLL and Rhyl Town Council Announce Free Festive Extravaganza for Christmas Lights Switch-On
Denbighshire Leisure Ltd (DLL) and Rhyl Town Council are delighted to invite the community to kick off the festive season with the spectacular Rhyl Christmas Lights Switch-On event.
The free event promises an afternoon packed with festive cheer, family entertainment, and a dazzling switch-on ceremony. The festivities will take place in Rhyl Town Centre on Saturday, November 22nd, starting at 2PM.
The main street event is completely FREE and features an incredible lineup of entertainment for all ages, including: The incredible Glowbot adding a futuristic sparkle to the streets, FREE Face Painting for children, A giant Snowglobe offering a perfect backdrop for amazing festive photos, performances from the Rhyl Youth Marching Band, a DJ, and various Children’s Entertainment.
There’ll also be wondrous creations from Mr Magico Balloon Modelling, festive-themed costumed characters roaming the event and seasonal performances by the Enchanting Entertainment’s Children’s Choir.
The countdown to Christmas officially begins when the lights are switched on by the cast of this year’s Rhyl Pavilion Theatre Panto, Sleeping Beauty, who will be joined on stage by the Rhyl Town Mayor, Cllr Alexander Walker. Fans of the panto won’t want to miss the exclusive Cast Meet & Greet taking place during the afternoon.

Rhyl Mayor Cllr Alexander Walker said: “November is a bumper time for Rhyl with the Christmas Pops concert and the lights switch on. Rhyl is always a blaze of festive cheer, and the town council is delighted to continue providing the lights and a free event to bring some early Christmas fun to the community. The lights switch on is a good opportunity to hear from the town’s Panto stars, for families and friends to come together and for us all to enjoy the countdown to the festivities. We are looking forward to a great afternoon.”
