World Autism Awareness Day takes place on Wednesday 2nd April, and to help raise awareness of this important event, DLL are proud to share details of the autism friendly sessions offered within their programme.

With an number of hugely popular disability and autism friendly sessions already taking place across its sites, DLL will be further extending their timetable to include the fun, new Clip n’ Climb and iGames sessions offered at its recently launched, junior fitness experience at Prestatyn Leisure.  These sessions are due to start in late spring, and more details will be available on DLL’s social channels very soon.

DLL already offers disability and autism friendly adventure play sessions at both its indoor play areas at SC2 and Nova, Prestatyn, and autism friendly sessions at its Ninja Tag attraction at SC2 Rhyl.  All are designed to cater for children who find a lot of sensory input unsettling, and prefer a more relaxed environment, which involve reduced lighting, no music, and limits on attendance.

With DLL’s flagship attraction, SC2’s Waterpark, reopening this summer, plans are already in place for the return of the popular autism friendly water park sessions which again include a quieter environment, with reduced tannoy announcements and only selected slides running.  SC2 is a fully accessible site, and includes a changing village, with showers, changing bed, and hoist.

DLL MD, Jamie Groves said ‘At DLL, our teams work hard to deliver programmes that provide something for everyone, and our disability and autism friendly sessions at SC2 and Nova are always very much in demand.  We have developed a similar approach across our portfolio, for example Relaxed Performances of our Christmas panto at the Pavilion Theatre, as we know many people can find the theatre experience overwhelming.  With World Autism Awareness Day taking place on 2nd April, we’re now delighted to announce that we are extending our programme to include disability and autism Clip n’ Climb and iGames sessions at Prestatyn, and encourage anyone interested to keep an eye on our social channels over the next few weeks.”
