What is the DLL Community Grant fund?

The DLL Community Grants scheme will give smaller organisations and clubs in Denbighshire the opportunity to apply for capital money to support local events and activities related to arts and sport.

The grant fits into the 25/26 SPF priority of Communities and Place, the theme of Healthy, Safe and Inclusive Communities, and the sub-theme of Healthy: Improve health and wellbeing. By giving local clubs and organisations the opportunity to apply for capital funding to support the above themes means that there will be more activities taking place at better local facilities. The objective of providing this community grant scheme is to support the strengthening of our social fabric and sense of local pride and belonging and will have both short term and longer-term benefits.

The Community Grant scheme will be open to all eligible clubs and organisations in Denbighshire, but we will specifically ensure that areas of deprivation are supported. Clubs and organisations are encouraged to offer projects that support minority groups. Clubs and organisations who previously received funding from DLL in the last rounds, are still able to apply, however should the grant be oversubscribed then priority will be given to new clubs and organisations.

Capital funding is available.

CAPITAL – Capital funding can be used to purchase large assets, either new or the significant refurbishment of existing assets. These are expected to have “wider community benefit” and to have an expected lifespan of at least 5 years. For example, large football goals worth £2000 would be capital.
