DLL (Denbighshire Leisure Ltd) is celebrating after being ‘Highly Commended’ for two national award categories last week.

The local company was recognised at the prestigious fitness awards on Thursday, 3rd October, which saw industry leaders from across the UK come together to celebrate achievements from the last 12 months.

DLL was highlighted several times and throughout the evening, and highly commended twice, firstly for their innovation at Club Rhyl with the revolutionary 360 fitness studio, and secondly, for their ‘March the Month’ Marketing campaign for Prostate Cancer.

Jamie Groves, Managing Director of DLL, said: “It was a huge honour to be recognised Nationally on this scale, just to be shortlisted was a huge achievement for such a prestigious awards ceremony. The whole DLL team put their heart and soul into their work and it’s fantastic that we’ve been recognised for our outstanding work. This recognition has given the whole company a boost, ensuring we continue to buck the trend nationally in every area of the business.”

DLL was shortlisted for six awards, These included: regional club of the year with Club Rhyl; organisation innovation award for the launch of Studio 360; marketing campaign award for work on prostate cancer this year; the healthy communities award and both the Executive team and Jamie Groves up for leadership awards. DLL on the evening were also put forward by the judges for the Leisure organisation of the year.

Ukactive is the top national industry association, promoting the interests of commercial fitness gyms and community leisure centres, with more than 4,000 organisations in membership across the UK.

Jamie added: “It’s fantastic to see a Denbighshire company being acknowledged nationally for all the hard work throughout the business, and we’re thrilled to have been nominated for six different awards, which endorses a strong well rounded company at every level.
