Corwen Leisure Centre has been formally renamed as Canolfan Hamdden Huw Jones, in honour of much-loved Councillor, Huw ‘Chick’ Jones.

A short renaming ceremony took place outside the Centre, attended by a small number of representatives of Denbighshire County Council, Denbighshire Leisure Ltd and members of Huw’s family.

The family have been delighted with the many positive comments they have received about the change of name.

The ceremony, taken place on Tuesday, 19th May, was by invitation only, and all Covid guidance was adhered to in full.
