As you are aware from previous updates, SC2’s waterpark has remained closed since New Year, due to widespread storm damage which affected the roof. In the months since, our team has worked very closely with loss adjusters and specialist surveyors to agree the scope of the repairs. Thank you to everybody who has supported us throughout this difficult period, whether through their loyalty and custom, or by sending in messages of support, we are truly grateful for everyone’s understanding. Unfortunately, due to the scale of the works, this has been a very lengthy process with the insurance company who had to agree to the extent of the works; and we had to take into account all the other construction works already taking place around SC2 which limited access; but we are delighted to announce that the work to repair the roof will begin within the next few weeks, with scaffolding being erected around the building very soon. Once complete, we expect this work to future proof the attraction from similar damage, and deliver a more resilient facility for everyone.

Although we are pleased that the remedial work is now moving forward, we still want to stress how devastated everyone at DLL has been to spend a summer without our much loved waterpark, when it should have been at its busiest. As a company, the closure has naturally been upsetting for us, but we also appreciate how the disappointment has affected our staff, our customers and the wider community in Rhyl. As you can imagine, we’re very excited to be able to start looking forward, and can promise everyone that SC2 will be back next year, better and stronger than ever, and with a fantastic range of free and low cost community offers in the pipeline to welcome you all back!
Whilst the work is taking place, the rest of the attraction has and will remain open, and our Ninja TAG arena and our Adventure Play will continue to operate as normal. We will also still be operating SC2 Ninja TAG sessions, birthday parties and our Adventure Play café with Costa!

We are all in this together and delivering the highest quality facilities to help make Rhyl the destination of choice, remains our priority. Throughout the disappointing closures that have affected DLL over the last few years, our commitment to Rhyl has not wavered, so please join us in celebrating this great news! We are already looking forward to reopening the waterpark, and seeing you all again, in true DLL style.
