It’s great to be back! Following the recent announcement by Welsh Government that leisure centres can reopen, we are delighted that from 10th August we are able to accept block bookings for all weather pitches and swimming pools.
While you’ve been away, we have been very busy. We have used the downtime to carry out refurbishments and upgrades across many of our sites and also brought forward several projects which were scheduled to be completed in the autumn. All this means, you can look forward to some fantastic new facilities when you return.
Once we reopen, the safety of customers and staff will be our key priority. You can be assured we will be adhering to all government safety advice, and have been working hard to put in place new systems which mean you will be able to use our facilities safely. This information is available on our website.
To apply for a block booking, please complete the following forms by 24th August 2020.
Please ensure you have also read the Terms and Conditions in full before completing the forms.
Terms and Conditions
Block Booking Form
As part of your application, we will also require you to provide details of how your club plan to run their sessions safely, and in line with social distancing restrictions. Relevant forms are also available on our website.
Clubs paying by invoice
Clubs with bookings for 2019/20 will be given priority for securing their previous booking days/times, provided all completed forms are received by the above date.
We’ll contact you by 31st August to let you know your booking has been processed and the club will then receive a written provisional offer. To confirm the booking, the club will be required to pay the first month’s invoice in full, within seven days of receiving the offer.
If payment is not received within seven days, the booking will be released for general sale. Payments are non-refundable and dates cannot be changed once the applications have been processed.
Booking for the remainder of the block booking period will be invoiced monthly in advance (e.g. November’s bookings will be invoiced on 1st October with 30 day payment terms).
Clubs with credits due from their 2019/20 bookings will have those credit amounts deducted from their first invoice.
Clubs paying weekly
Clubs paying for their block bookings weekly in advance will be required to pay for their first booking by 7th September.
Private group bookings, paying weekly
At present we are unable to accept private group bookings for contact sports such as football and netball, until government guidance changes, but we will accept expressions of interest through this process, to secure your previous slot from 2019/20.
Please note that the terms and conditions for groups paying weekly have also changed, and groups will only be able to cancel a maximum of 2 bookings in any 3-month period. Groups that cancel 3 or more bookings in a 3-month period may have their block booking withdrawn.
For any group with a Leisure Card, we will extend the expiry date to allow for any time lost while the leisure centre has been closed.
As a company, we constantly review our processes to ensure that they are robust and meet relevant legislation and guidelines. In particular, Denbighshire Leisure Ltd takes its safeguarding responsibilities very seriously and with this in mind, we require all clubs and organisations to complete a safeguarding form when hiring our facilities. The form covers safeguarding procedures and is particularly applicable to those who coach / instruct persons under the age of 18 years.
As a group organiser, you will be aware that there are a number of necessary documents which organisations should have in place before activities are undertaken. These include up-to-date Public Liability Insurance, risk assessments and operating procedures. You will also be aware that for all those who coach / instruct, persons under the age of 18 years, an enhanced DBS check needs to be undertaken. Our safeguarding form acknowledges that we have made you aware of these requirements, and requests that you fully complete the first page, sign and return it with your block booking form, in order to confirm they are in place within your organisation.
As part of our commitment to improving safeguarding processes, Denbighshire Leisure Ltd may periodically request that Clubs using our facilities supply copies of relevant documentation. We would be grateful for your co-operation.
Unfortunately, we will be unable to accept bookings from clubs or organisations unable to comply with the above requirements.
If you have any queries regarding the above, please contact your local centre.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.
