Denbighshire attractions lighting up in Red, White and Blue to commemorate VE Day

DLL (Denbighshire Leisure Ltd) will be lighting up its attractions in red, white and blue on Thursday 8th May to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day.

Ruthin Craft Centre, Rhyl Sky Tower, Rhyl Pavilion Theatre, 1891 Restaurant and Bar, the Events Arena waterfall, and Denbighshire coastal shelters will all be lighting up in red, white and blue in celebration of VE 80, the anniversary of the date which marks the end of WWII.

VE Day was first celebrated on May 8, 1945, after almost 6 years of war, and is marked in many countries across Europe, both as the advent of peace, and as a tribute to all those who fought so hard for the freedom we now enjoy.

This year is the 80th anniversary of VE Day and will be marked by events across the UK, aimed at bringing communities together and ensuring that younger generations understand the importance of the sacrifices made by so many.

Jamie Groves DLL MD said “DLL is proud to light up buildings in honour of VE 80. As a company, we are honoured to be able to show our respect and gratitude for those who fought in WWII, many of whom paid the ultimate sacrifice. We will be coming together with countries across the globe, and lighting buildings in red, white and blue, to mark this significant historical event.”
