RHYL PAVILION THEATRE CELEBRATES A STELLAR AUTUMN SEASON

Packed programme of music, comedy, live performance and family-friendly entertainment

 

The Rhyl Pavilion Theatre has unveiled an unmissable autumn season of brilliant entertainment at its state-of-the-art waterfront home.

 

The theatre is promising a busy programme of music, comedy, live performance and family-friendly shows between now and Christmas.

 

The Rhyl Pavilion Theatre is a stunning modern 1,031-seat venue in the popular North Wales resort, and the third theatre to stand on the seafront site with the earliest dating back to 1891 – after which the popular coastal dining and event space, 1891 Restaurant & Bar, is named.

 

The theatre presents a wide-ranging selection of quality entertainment and attracts world-class artists like Sir Bryn Terfel and Katherine Jenkins and top West End shows, with recent shows including Chicago, Little Mix, Mrs Brown’s Boys, Olly Murs, Strictly Come Dancing professionals and comedy giant John Bishop. It is also committed to facilitating vibrant theatre and dance in the community as well as school productions.

 

 

Enjoy the best of the global phenomenon which is K-pop on Sunday, 13 September with KPOP Fantasy. An immersive, high-energy theatrical celebration, it boasts electrifying choreography, outstanding vocals and bold visuals from start to finish. The feelgood production is perfect for both devoted fans or K-pop newbies and is a hit with all ages.

 

It’s A Grand Night for Music on Saturday, 26 September when the world-famous Brighouse & Rastrick Brass Band joins musical forces with the celebrated Welsh male voice choir Cor Godre’r Aran to raise funds for St Kentigern Hospice which does such vital work supporting people across North East Wales. The evening of music, joy and generosity will be hosted by S4C star Dilwyn Morgan.

 

Self-confessed ‘Swiftie’ Katie Ellis fronts the award-winning tribute concert Taylormania: The End of an Era The Final Tour on Saturday, 3 October. She is joined by an incredible live band and dancers in what is promised as the most authentic recreation of a Taylor Swift show you will ever see, featuring all her biggest hits including Shake It Off, Love Story and Look What You Made Me Do.

 

Showaddywaddy have sold more than 20 million records worldwide and have spent an amazing 209 weeks on the UK singles’ chart since they formed in Leicester in the 1970s. Now they are heading for the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre with a dynamic and uplifting show on Saturday, 10 October which includes massive hits like the number one Under the Moon of Love, Three Steps to Heaven, Pretty Little Angel Eyes and You Got What it Takes.

 

Experience the ultimate tribute to Adele – live by candlelight with Hometown Glory on Friday, 16 October. The internationally acclaimed, award-winning production stars Natalie Black who delivers all the singer’s finest songs in an uncanny and spine-tingling performance which has made Black the leading Adele tribute act worldwide.

The Mersey Beatles are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Fab Four album Revolver with an all-new show which comes to the theatre on Saturday, 21 November. The Mersey Beatles clocked up more than 600 performances during a decade-long residency at Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club and promise a stunning two-hour magical mystery tour through the Beatles’ biggest hits including tracks from the groundbreaking 1966 album.

 

 

Adam Rowe brings his world tour live stand-up show Fashionism to Rhyl on Saturday, 17 October. The popular and likeable Liverpool funnyman and host of the Have a Word Podcast is a star of Live at the Apollo and has also played at some of the biggest clubs in the country including The Comedy Store, Jongleurs, The Frog and Bucket and the Hot Water Comedy Club.

 

He is followed on Friday, 23 October by fellow Liverpudlian Paul Smith who is also on a world tour with his new show Happy – the biggest and boldest show of his career so far. Expect Smith’s trademark crowd work, razor-sharp observation and laugh-out-loud true stories along with some outrageous audience interaction.

 

Then spend an evening in the company of Eric & Ern on Sunday, 1 November when Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens present their brilliant live stage tribute to Morecambe and Wise. From Grieg’s Piano Concerto to Mr Memory, this celebration of two kings of comedy is crammed with enough treats to bring sunshine to the entire North Wales coast.

 

 

Kevin Kennedy (Coronation Street, Rock of Ages, We Will Rock You) appears as Mr Isaacs in a lavish and haunting new musical version of The Picture of Dorian Gray which comes to the Rhyl Pavilion on Tuesday, 20 October. Oscar Wilde’s classic tells the tale of a man who has it all – youth, beauty and irresistible charm, but finds retaining it forever comes at an unimaginable cost.

 

Internationally renowned illusionist Kayden Black presents Illusion Impossible on Thursday, 29 October, headlining a mind-blowing theatrical experience packed with breathtaking magic and illusions for all ages. Black will be joined on stage by award-winning magician Michael Carr and award-winning escapologist Andy Storm.

On Sunday, 15 November, the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre welcomes BAFTA-winning writer and performer Phil Mealey with his new live show Early Doors – Behind the Bar and Beyond, inviting audiences to an evening of laughter, nostalgia, behind-the-scenes stories and live music from the beloved series.

 

Then enjoy An Evening with Duncan Ferguson on Friday, 20 November as the Everton legend shares stories from his stellar career as a professional footballer (for Dundee United, Rangers and Newcastle as well as the Toffees) and manager – and somehair-raising and hilarious off-the-pitch tales too.

 

Family-friendly shows

 

Following the sell-out success of Princess Live! Darling Productions Ltd are back, this time with Unicorn Live which brings the ultimate unicorn party to the theatre on Wednesday, 28 October. Join friends Harmony, Melody and Starlight as they use their unicorn powers to save the show and conjure up a magical fourth band member.

And enjoy some pantomime magic when Anton Benson Productions returns to Rhyl to present the enchanting tale of Aladdin from 5-31 December. The all-star cast includes Eternal and Loose Women’s Kelle Bryan as the Spirit of the Ring, Casualty actor and Rhyl panto favourite Amanda Henderson as Mrs Twankey and Britain’s Got Talent winner Ashleigh Butler (accompanied by talented miniature poodle Tapas) as the Empress.
