DLL supports over 130 free fun events across Denbighshire this Summer
DLL and partners are bringing over 130 free wellbeing events to Denbighshire for children and young people this summer.
The free sessions which include beach activities, girls football, play sessions, youth events and family fun days have been created to give families access to a programme of free events in a range of fun, safe and welcoming environments. Working with a number of partner organisations, DLL’s Community Sport team will be supporting these fun sessions in communities across the county.
Events in the north feature beach days, play sessions, girls’ football sessions and lots more, whilst further south, sessions will include open access football, family fun days and National Play Days. With funding received from the Police & Crime Commissioner’s Community Fund, and in collaboration with DCC Youth Services, ‘Big Summer Hangouts’ for young people from 11 years onwards will also be taking place in a number of communities.
Jamie Groves, Managing Director of DLL (Denbighshire Leisure Ltd) said: “With six weeks of summer holiday ahead, we all know that entertaining children and young people can become somewhat expensive. The DLL Community Sport Team has been working with a number of partner organisations to bring together a brilliant range of wellbeing activities in communities throughout Denbighshire and all completely FREE. There’s lots of choice available, with something to keep the most energetic young ones busy and having fun! So whether you’re in Llangollen or Prestatyn, we look forward to seeing you at as many of the events as possible!”
