6,000 tickets given for free to the DLL Summertime Weekender this weekend
Prepare for an unforgettable weekend of music this Saturday and Sunday, as Denbighshire Leisure Ltd (DLL) in collaboration with Rhyl Town Council, cannot wait to welcome 6,000 people to the free ‘Summertime Weekender’ at the Rhyl Events Arena.
6,000 free tickets have been given to the local community and residents for the Summertime Weekender this week, run and hosted by DLL at the Rhyl Events Arena.
Those who have booked will have received all the details ahead of the event in their inboxes, including T&Cs and essential info.
With thanks to funding from Rhyl Town Council, DLL are thrilled to announce that all the free tickets for this weekend have now been snapped up.
Taking place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August at Rhyl Events Arena, the line-up is packed with performances and activities for all ages, ensuring an exciting summer celebration for the entire community.
The festivities begin on Saturday with an impressive line-up of acts including The Big Pop Party Show – featuring terrific tributes to Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa and Meghan Trainor, Queen Rhapsody – Performing all of Queen’s legendary hits and Kaiser Monkey Killers – Enjoy classic rock anthems from this talented tribute band.
Sunday’s line-up offers an afternoon of legendary sounds with performances from Midnight Soul Sisters – Delivering soulful and Motown classics, Elite Elton – performing the iconic hits of Elton John and Ska Britannia – known for their energetic performances and showmanship.
There’s something for everyone, Families and children with tickets can also enjoy a range of fun and free entertainment dotted around the arena throughout the day, including face painting, balloon modelling, a caricaturist and more.

Over 60’s ‘Clip n Climb’ for free at Prestatyn Leisure with DLL this Summer
DLL (Denbighshire Leisure Ltd) is encouraging families to get fit together whilst making it fun this Summer with an exciting new offer at Prestatyn Leisure.
DLL are bringing all generations together and giving free entry for adults aged 60 when attending with a paying grandchild or member of their family over four years old.
Running from July 19 to August 31st, the promotion invites grandparents to join their grandchildren in an unforgettable climbing experience — completely free of charge.
Jamie Groves, Managing Director at DLL, said: “This initiative is about celebrating the bond between grandparents and grandchildren while encouraging physical activity for all ages. It’s a fantastic way for families to make memories together during the summer holidays. This offer is funded by the Welsh Government 60 Plus Active Leisure Scheme which aims to encourage more people aged 60 and over in Wales to access local leisure offers.

Successful reopening of the SC2 outdoor Splash Pad as over 300 visitors splash for free
The reopening weekend of the Splash Pad at SC2 was a huge success, with hundreds of people enjoying the sun and outdoor splash area over the weekend.
Over 2,000 visitors enjoyed the outdoor Splash Pad for the opening weekend, including over 600 free tickets given away by DLL to mark the reopening.
After releasing 300 free tickets online to local residents to experience the outdoor SC2 Splash Pad in an exciting ‘taster day’ on Friday 11th July, all the tickets were snapped up in less than 45 minutes.
A further 1800 enjoyed glorious sunshine in the sell-out Splash Pad sessions on Saturday and Sunday, which included another 300 free places aimed at local people.
Splash Pad will be open weekends and holidays until the end of the summer, with free sessions after 5pm daily aimed at local people. Sessions can be booked online at www.SC2rhyl.co.uk.

For two sessions on Friday 11th July, DLL are inviting local residents for free to enjoy the waterpark as a ‘taster’ for what’s to come this weekend when the outdoor Splash Pad opens to the public.

SC2 waterpark is now ready to open the outdoor Splash Pad and is offering locals 300 free tickets to taster sessions this Friday.
With the countdown to the reopening of SC2’s Outdoor Splash Pad this Saturday, the DLL (Denbighshire Leisure Ltd) team at SC2 are delighted to welcome customers back and see the outdoor Splash Pad full of happy smiling faces once more!
DLL are inviting locals to enjoy a few hours at the outdoor area of SC2, the Splash Pad, for free as a ‘taster’ for what’s to come this summer, and as a thank you for their support during the time the waterpark was closed for repairs to the roof. Over 600 free tickets were snapped up online in less than thirty minutes for the indoor waterpark, so people are encouraged to book online as they will go on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
The indoor sessions were a huge success, with residents flooding in to enjoy the chance to have fun, and makes some memories with friends and family. The free opening event also included a session specifically for local homeless people, in support of charity Helping Homeless North Wales.
Online booking for the FREE outdoor Splash Pad sessions opens Thursday at 3pm and the team at SC2 can’t wait to welcome everyone and are ready to open the doors this weekend for a summer filled with fun!

Free family entertainment and two evenings of a live DJ and sunset drinks to kick start summer at 1891 Rhyl
Two days of sunset drinks with live DJ and free family entertainment have been planned this weekend to kick start the summer at 1891 Rhyl.
Your Summer starts on midday Friday at 1891 with food and drinks offers from 12 noon and a live DJ from 5pm. It’s a perfect excuse to finish work early, kick back to celebrate the sunshine.
An afternoon free family entertainment follows on Saturday from 1pm, with free children’s puppet show, balloon modelling and more. Then, from 5pm the live DJ returns to keep you dancing into the sunset.

DLL to manage and provide a new grant funding opportunity for local community groups
DLL has received an exciting grant from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, to administer another Community Grants Scheme. The grant fits into the 25/26 Shared Prosperity Fund priority of Communities and Place, the theme of Healthy, Safe and Inclusive Communities, and the sub-theme of Healthy: Improve health and wellbeing.
By giving local clubs and organisations the opportunity to apply for capital funding to support the above themes means that there will be more activities taking place at better local facilities. The total amount available is £154,000
The objective of providing this community grant scheme is to support the strengthening of our social fabric and sense of local pride and belonging and will have both short term and longer-term benefits.
Jamie Groves, Managing Director of DLL, said: “ We are delighted to once again be able to support local clubs and organisations to provide funding to improve the health and wellbeing of Denbighshire residents. Our Community is one of the three pillars of our company, and helping maintain community participation and club infrastructure remains a priority for DLL. With this funding from the UK Government, and Denbighshire County Council, it will enable us to help sustain and support important third sector groups, sports and cultural organisations. Many clubs and organisations are run by volunteers for the benefit of the local community, and provide opportunities for people to come together, which we know has a positive impact on people’s mental health and wellbeing.”
Voluntary and community groups, Not-for-profit sports club or community organisation, Parish and Town Councils, Charities that are delivering local services and support (Includes uniformed groups) and Schools and educational establishments are eligible to apply.
To be eligible you must be able to demonstrate how the project will support one of the two following Shared Prosperity Funding interventions:
- Healthy, Safe and Inclusive Communities,
- Improve health and wellbeing
Capital grants of between £2,000 and £15,000 are available.
The funding round opens on Monday 30th June and closes Monday 28th July 2025. All capital funding is available to support sports clubs and organisations supporting arts and cultural activities.

DLL invited locals to enjoy a few hours at the waterpark for free as a ‘taster’ for what’s to come this summer, and as a thank you for their support during the time the waterpark was closed for repairs to the roof. Gyda ond dyddiau ar ol cyn ailagor parc dŵr SC2 ar y 5ed o Orffennaf, roedd tîm DLL (Hamdden Sir Ddinbych Cyf) yn SC2 wrth eu bodd yn croesawu cwsmeriaid yn ôl i’r parc dŵr, ac i weld y pwll yn llawn wynebau hapus unwaith eto!
Gwahoddodd DLL bobl leol i fwynhau ychydig oriau yn y parc dŵr am ddim fel ‘blas’ o’r hyn sydd i ddod yr haf hwn, ac fel diolch am eu cefnogaeth yn ystod yr amser y bu’r parc dŵr ar gau ar gyfer atgyweiriadau i’r to.
