Rhyl is gearing up for a spectacular weekend of yuletide festivities to usher in the holiday season next month, with Rhyl’s Christmas Light Switch On scheduled for Saturday 25th and Christmas Pops concert on Saturday 26th November.

Kicking off the weekend with a bang is the annual Christmas Light Switch-On at Rhyl High Street, running from 2pm to 5pm. DJ Paul Crawford will be spinning all the festive favourites and playing games alongside themed dancers, face painter, balloon modeller,  9ft Glowbot and themed street entertainer who will also be joining the fun.

Mayor of Rhyl, Councillor Jacquie McAlpine will be joined by the all-star cast of Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime in illuminating the town. Cast members include pop star Chico, famous for his UK number one hit ‘Chico Time’, ‘Allo ‘Allo! actor Arthur Bostrom,  Casualty star Amanda Henderson, The Bill actor Graham Cole, Britain’s Got Talent finalist duo Jamie and Chuck, and Hollyoaks actress Amy-Jane Ollies.

The festivities continue on Sunday with Rhyl’s free Christmas Pops Concert at Rhyl Pavilion Theatre, featuring a fantastic line-up of artists. Attendees will have the pleasure of listening to the best of Motown with Jackie Marie, a little bit of Country with Peter McKeown and the dynamic beats of 8-piece Ska Tribute Band, Ska Britannia. This free-to-attend  event promises to be a delightful treat to officially open the holiday season in Rhyl. Tickets are free to book by calling the Rhyl Pavilion Box Office on 01745 330000  and will be limited to four tickets per household. Doors will open from 4pm, giving concert goers the chance to grab a drink before the concert starts at 5pm.
